Working in the retail industry, I, Louis Lefevre, the son of farmers, realized that the world was turned upside down: 90% of polystyrene packaging still isn’t recycled. Hot-air balloons are discarded after 650 hours of flight. Advertising banners have a lifespan of only a few months. What if we recycled them to make beanbags? That’s the idea I had in 2016. Since then, we’ve gradually transformed our family farm in Picardy into a polystyrene recycling plant, and we travel across France to collect hot air balloons. We believe in giving things a second chance, so we set up our workshop in Seine-Saint-Denis to share production with the Mode Estime social integration project. The story of objects in our consumer society unfolds in four chapters: We extract, we consume, we burn, we bury. We believe a second chapter can be written right in your home.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN ...
... UNTIL WE EMERGE FROM RECONSTRUCTION
And for those who are wondering: We have no connection to the arcade/video game center that’s also called La Tête Dans Les Nuages
